Peeved

Yesterday, in an effort to get out of the doldrums, Embak called up a few friends for tea, but none could avail themselves. So I did the next best thing; I went shopping. Nothing major, just ice-cream, which is a luxury item in my dictionary. As an additional treat, I bought myself not one, but two.

So later, I opened my tub of Berry Strawberry, and what did I find? Its top one-third gone, skimmed. I felt icky immediately. I just cannot fathom someone daring enough to eat ice-cream from the supermarket fridge half-way, and leave it for others to take home! What jerk, what idiot, what weirdo!

The last time I bought ice-cream wasn't a success either. The ice-cream was soft and almost runny. I should have known when the lid came off when I paid the cashier. That's why this time around, I made sure the lid was tight and checked the expiry date. Boy, was I in for another surprise.

Alas, no more ice-cream from the supermarket for me.

And I guess, that's why they call it the blues.
