Back to office world

I have not updated this blog that since January this year I have started working at Prudential agency office Mondays through Wednesdays, 10am-4pm. I negotiated the hours to suit the remuneration my boss was willing to pay. I signed-up for this job because I needed to get one foot in the door in case I need to resign as an agent later. As a staff of the agency, I would be able to have access to the system otherwise how am I to serve my clients without access to the system, right?

My experience as an agent of Prudential for more than 12 years helps a lot in my work which is equivalent to a Personal Assistant. (It is actually a step-down, and I am coming to terms with it). It is fun when there is work but today it has been BORING because the boss did not come in as he is attending to renovation work that is going on in his pub. Yes! He has a business on the side. That man. Years ago, he told us agents that we were not supposed to involve in business other than insurance!

Other than my boss, I am the second older person on this floor. As at today, four out of five rooms are being  occupied by Saiful Rahman's agency. TK1 agency is now the minor agency even though my boss is a veteran Agency Manager. Huh, I am assuming that you guys understand the hierarchy system in Prudential. My boss is pissed with the situation, but he can't have much say because his agency did not have the agent headcount nor the production figure to back him. Sads.

The upside of being an older person is that the young agents look up to me somewhat. And for me, I must say that I can now eat by myself in the restaurant without being self-conscious. And people don't stare at me anymore. The downside is that, I find myself too sensitive sometimes. O wait, there's another agent who is my age, and she has not come to the office for ages. Women our age and our messed-up hormones. My boss also confessed that he is undergoing andropause.

I am blogging this right in the office. Another hour before I could go home, so maybe after this I'll look up FB , Twitter or other sites on the internet. Ta-ta.
