On a day that most people work including herself, Embak decided to watch a movie! Truth is, the last time she set foot inside a movie theatre was in the days of the first Bond movie starring Danial Craig; that would be in 2006! After receiving so much positive feedback on 29 Februari, the first 3-D movie of the nation, she decided to catch it too.
Lucky for her she has a network of friends that she can rely on for most activities; this time her friend, Roz was kind enough to accompany her at GSC Paradigm Mall for the matinee show.
I went in, 3D goggles in hand with a prayer that it better not let me down. The theatre was filled by none but five of us, all Malay ladies. I don't want to give away the storyline, but suffice to say that it did not disappoint. I had fun for most part of the story especially the pre-Merdeka scenes and post up to the present time as my eyes scrutinized for any goofs in the set or anachronisms. But I must tell ya, my eyes rested easy when they showed Budi in the current era as the actor who played him looked the most relaxed and not consciously acting. Not that Remy Ishak isn't easy on the eyes, ehem, but when he is comfortable, he looks better. My only complaint would be that the singing mar the film at times because once or twice I couldn't help but chuckled because the characters suddenly burst into a song. Or maybe it's just me who just don't get Musicals.
So, go and watch the movie for yourself. If this critical lady likes it, there is no way you wouldn't.
Edit: To whomever wants to know a full review of this film, can go to this blog. *SPOILERS Alert*.
